MMD Announces The Philips 27

MMD, the tech company and brand license partner for Philips Monitors, has announced a new 27" IPS-AHVA display with factory-calibrated colour support across the Adobe RGB colour space. With the wide gamut of Adobe RGB, the display can reproduce over one billion colours with near-total fidelity, giving professional users the confidence that the colours on the display are consistent with industry standards – for colour precision throughout the entire production workflow.

PerfectKolor

Pre-calibrated to render colours accurately, the 272P4APJKHB display supports 99 % Adobe RGB and 100% sRGB colour space, eliminating the process of matching colours across multiple devices. Moreover, with six-axis adjustment, PerfectKolor enables the display colours to be fine-tuned to precise requirements.

10-bit colours

Using 10 bits to describe each colour, the new 27" display is said to be-able to represent over one billion colours simultaneously – differences that are indistinguishable to the human eye. The resulting images are smooth and natural, without gradations or colour banding.

SmartUniformity

Fluctuations in brightness and colour on different areas of the screen are a common phenomenon. With SmartUniformity metrics, the display auto-adjusts to compensate for these differences, and delivers average luminance uniformity in excess of 95 % - vital for consistency in colour-critical applications such as photography and scientific imaging.

Flicker-Free Technology

Due to the way brightness is controlled on LED-backlit screens, users sometimes experience screen flicker. The potential eye fatigue is anathema to accurate work with detail-rich images. Philips Flicker-Free Technology is an innovative solution to regulate brightness and reduce flicker for a more comfortable viewing experience.

Complementing its colour capabilities, the new IPS-AHVA display is also designed to measure up to the challenges of everyday office work – featuring a webcam and speakers, crystal-clear Quad HD images at 2560 x 1440 or 2560 x 1080 resolution, an extra-wide viewing angle for image clarity from nearly any perspective, and the tilt-and-swivel flexibility of the SmartErgoBase. With MultiView on board, the display connects to multiple sources simultaneously, enabling users to view a notebook feed on one part of the screen, for example, and data from the camera on the other.
